Nigeria should do a referendum, If Biafrans wants to go let them go, It's their right ~ Kwewum

Hon. Rimamnde Shawulu Kwewum, The Chairman, House Committee On Army Represents Donga/ Takum/Ussa/Yangtu Federal Constituency Of Taraba State

Hon. Rimamnde Shawulu Kwewum, The Chairman, House Committee On Army Represents Donga/ Takum/Ussa/Yangtu Federal Constituency Of Taraba State In The House Of Representatives has advocated for a referendum in Nigeria, to determine the strength and the unity of the country.

He said since Nigeria can not reform or restructure itself, let's conduct a referendum, and if any part of the country is willing to breakaway, so be it.

Hon Kwewum stated this in an interview with The Telegraph, he spoke on the issues of agitation and restructuring.
When asked by the interviewer, What he think, of how to tackle the issue of restructuring and agitation in Nigeria

Kwevum said; In the last 30 years, the world has witnessed some movements which Nigeria cannot be immune from. The Soviet Union broke into several parts. Czechoslovakia also broke into several countries that are thriving and are succeeding. In some places, the people have come together.

The United Kingdom recently voted to exit from the European Union (EU). You know that political systems evolve, the evolution involves changing forms and characters bring new factors and removing some factors.

Why should anyone say that Nigeria cannot reform itself or restructure itself? If the Biafrans want to go, let them go. We should do a referendum. Anyone that wants to go, let them go. If the Niger Delta wants to go, let them go. If the North wants to go, let them go. It is their right.
We are living in the era of human rights where people decide where they want to live, where they want to associate. I assure you that the way the world is moving, people will decide how they want to live.

People will decide and there is nobody that can stop it. So, the best thing and the most peaceful thing, is what they did in Czechoslovakia, where they sat and decided they were going to move apart and tomorrow they can decide to say we want to come together again, because that is how human beings are.

You want to do something today, you are crazy for it, tomorrow you discover that what you are crazy for, you don’t like it, you want to come back. So, our system must be such that we should be able to associate and disassociate. I don’t think that stopping the restructuring is a good thing.
