The Senate, on Thursday, disclosed that 282 oil vessels which berthed in Nigeria ‘s seaport, have disappeared without records, in four days. This disclosure was made by the Chairman, Senate Joint Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff and Marine Transport, Hope Uzodinma. during an investigative hearing, on Thursday. The Senate, thereby ordered the Managing Director of the Nigeria PortS Authority, NPA, Hadiza, to furnish the panel with details of the vessels within Four days. Uzodinma stated that failure to meet the four-day ultimatum, would force the Senate to treat the matter as a financial crime. He said: “We are looking for these vessels. We have the dates of arrival, the ports of discharge, and the manifests. Everything is with us, but information available to us, is that no money was collected by the Nigeria Customs Service, the NPA, or any other person. “So, you have four days to do your written explanation, otherwise we will consider it a financial crime. “

Give The Igbos The Biafra The Demanded and Not Restructuring – Soyinka

Image
THE arguments against restructuring of Nigeria were Friday countered by Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, who said it was wrong to say that the country’s structure should be left the way it is. Corroborating Soyinka’s position, Governor Seriake Dickson said there was need to negotiate cohabitation just as he said those calling for the breaking up of the country should jettison the idea. R-L Hon Seriake Dickson, Bayelsa State Governor; Prof Wole Soyinka; Dr Gabriel Okara and Prof Ebiegberi Alagoa during an Interactive Session of Nigeria’s Literary ICON’s with Secondary School Students in Bayelsa State at The Newly Commissioned Ijaw National Academy Yesterday in Kaiama Bayelsa State. Obiano Threatens To Arrest IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu

Image
Governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano, on Wednesday warned the secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra to stay out of the state during the November 18 poll. The governor threatened to go after anybody who would pose a threat to the poll, no matter how highly placed. Obiano insists that there would be election in the state, said the pro-Biafra agitators had no powers in the law to stop the poll. He warned those planning to disrupt the election to have a rethink or be ready to face the full weight of the law. He said “We are going to go after them, we will deal with those who said there would be no election in the state decisively. “People are free to vote candidates of their choice, you can see that in Anambra state today people now sleep with their two eyes closed,” he insisted. IPOB had threatened that there would be no election in Anambra state and the entire South East zone. It was also gathered that IPOB had planned to attack campaign rallie

Why Every Nigerian Youth Should Support The Biafra Agitation By Ij Onuigbo

Bottom-line up front, if things don’t change quickly in Nigeria, your future is at risk if not completely doomed.  I was alarmed to hear the Nigeria minister of finance, few days ago, along with other government officials make a justification as to why the Nigeria masses must start paying taxes including the beggars on the street.  That is what the giant of Africa have come to!  What a big shame – This is not to say that taxation is something not done, but it is inappropriate presently; but this is another topic!  The Nigeria government for years now have always put the kart ahead of the horse on every issue; lazy or inept enough to continue failing to do their jobs while getting paid.   I have listened to Nigeria citizens lament of increasing NEPA bills on masses who hardly get electric power in their homes from NEPA for the bills already paid; and while not getting the product they paid for, crazy government are raising the prices on them.  Now the newest lunacy is

Buhari’s Office Is In The Grave, He Has Been Attending A Prolonged And Turbulent Meeting In Hell – Fani Kayode

In His Words.. “The Supreme court did not raise a dead PDP, they only brought out the rotten corpse of a dead PDP for all to smell the bad odour”- Alhaji Lai Muhammed, Minister of Information, Daily Post, 15th July 2017. I am trying my best to remain magnamonious in victory and to remain restrained but this diaper-wearing, foul-breathed, big-nosed and lying APC Minister of Information has once again brought out the worst in me. Not only has he told yet another dirty and collosal lie but his deeply offensive and disrespectful characterisation and depiction of our great party the PDP is as inappropiate as it is provocative. The truth is that it is the APC that are the stinking corpses and the rotting cadavers and not the PDP. They smell like rotting Chinese fish and a Calcutta brothel all rolled into one. They stink to high heavens and they have fouled up the Nigerian space with their compelling and overwhelming stench and their fecal aroma. They should bury their heads

OPEN LETTER TO OHANEZE NDIGBO ON IT'S ADDRESS AT THE ANAMBRA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

The current Biafra agitation has exposed and has continued to expose the stupidity and the unscrupulousness that makes up and that is Nigeria in its entirety. Nigeria has consistently proven that it is the literal interpretation of the concept of hell fire here on earth and there is no doubt to this fact, given the ample evidences and testimonies. A country that openly and consciously roots for immorality and cruelty is not worthy to be referred to as a country as it would be a slight on the values of right-thinking men and men of goodwill around the world. The chaos, savagery, maliciousness, criminality and confusion that characterize the Nigerian enclave are such that it should rather be ranked alongside or lower to the animal world. Given the circumstance, the Biafran people have declared the desire to be dissociated from these conscious and state-sanctioned criminalities and insanities by opting for the restoration of their stolen nation and identity - Biafra . However, t

THE MYSTERY BEHIND EZU RIVER AND THE DUMPED BIAFRAN BODIES THEREIN

Image
By Obulose Chidiebere N. The tragedy and heinous crimes of 19th January 2013, carried out at Ezu River in Amansí, Awka-North local Government Area of Anambra state, are still very fresh in our memory. The blood of those innocent, young and promising Biafran men mowed down by the agents of Anambra cum Nigeria government, has continued to seek for vengeance against those that perpetrated that dastardly act of wickedness. The questions that have persistently remained unanswered include; 1) Has Ezu River become Bermuda Triangle that cannot be accessed for security reasons? 2) How many bodies of those slain Biafran men were actually dumped into the Ezu River? 3) Why has the Anambra state government kept sealed lips over that gruesome act? 4) Who is still holding the autopsy result of the Ezu River saga? There has been some speculations that couldn't really confirm the exact figure of the bodies that were dumped into the River. Some said over 30 bodies, while others

WE SAY NO TO RESTRUCTURING, IT'S EVIL AND UNREALISTIC

Image
BY Chimpuruimeihenile Immanuel Ukoha (Abia writers) Edited by Livingrich Ezeikpe Restructuring, as the term implies, has to do with reconstituting, revamping, reconstructing and reformatting. The issue making the rounds now is not new to Nigerians and Biafrans who can tell the story of the Aburi Accord, which was all about restructuring, although not exactly as the type being clamoured for today. If the Aburi Accord was implemented by the then powers that be, the Civil War wouldn't have broken out. And maybe the quest for Biafra might not have attained its current height. But the then military Head of State courtesy of his misunderstanding and misinterpretation of English language broke the agreement. (How blind they were). After the war, which was as a result of the broken agreement (Aburi Accord) on the side of Nigeria, General Yakubu Gowon came up with the 3 R's; Reconciliation, Rehabilitation and Reintegration. The Biafrans received Gowon's pious dec

IKE NWACHUKWU FOUGHT AND WORKED AGAINST THE SURVIVAL OF THE IGBO AND THE EMERGENCE OF BIAFRA

Image
I am writing this as personal reflection on the life of this man, Brig. Gen. Ike Nwachukwu, as we come to know him. Who is he before and during the war? He is Lt Omar Fanda of the Nigerian army, born and raised in the North, and currently married to a Hausa woman. He had an Igbo father and Hausa mother. During the civil war Omar Fanda was a lieutenant at the break of Nzeogwu's coup. He was moved to army head quarters provosts, and later moved to join Lt Col. Muritala Muhamed's division after Banjo invasion. There he became a company commander. He commanded company battalion all through Ore road and confrontations to the banks of Niger to Onisha. Not only that he fought against his kin, Omar Fanda commanded the battalion that massacred 3000 civilians who came out to sing one Nigeria. He in company with Muritala Muhamed massacred civilians during the war time. This makes him a war criminal. Under Buhari and Idiagbo's government, he was sent as a military

South-East, South-South Governors To Recreate Old Eastern Region

Image
Those who attended the meeting of Southeast and South-South governors held in Enugu last Sunday, where the two zones agreed to work together, would readily agree that a new beginning that may positively affect the two regions has started. This is not because meetings of such nature have not held in the past among groups in the regions, but because the enthusiasm to drive this new beginning is now being driven by their political leaders. At the meeting were governors Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (Rivers); Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu); Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom); and David Umahi (Ebonyi), Owelle Rochas Okorocha (Imo) Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Henry Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa), Benedict Ayade (Cross River) and deputy governor of Anambra, Dr. Nkem Okeke. At various times and levels, people of southeast and south-south zones had cooperated and seen themselves as brothers, despite political creations that excised one from the other. For instance, the agitation for Biafra actualisation bei

Biafra and Nigeria’s missed opportunities

Image
BY FRANCIS OBORJI This article is a follow-up to my previous write-up about the role of the victim of violence in social reconciliation. It is about the ongoing uneasiness between the Igbo ethnic nationality and Nigerian nation-state. What could be the positive role of Nnamdi Kanu and his group in the resurgent Biafra saga? There have been missed opportunities in the past in the dialogue between Nigerian state and the Igbo. What is the new opportunity Nnamdi Kanu and his group may be offering us today? Most of those calling for reconciliation and unity of the country today, especially, state actors and players have refused to get to the heart of the Nigerian story. Some others, non-state players, naïve outsiders, who are not the direct perpetrators of violence, may be well-meaning people, but they also may contribute to the violence by their actions, since they are allying themselves with the perpetrators of violence in the way that they are addressing themselves to t
