In a letter addressed to the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, which was also a reaction to the previous letter written by the Arewa youth to the acting president, the Igbo group urged the presidency to, as a matter of urgency, pass a motion that will allow all sections of the nation campaign for, and hold a referendum to freely determine if they want to remain in Nigeria or not. In the letter, president of the group, Tochukwu Ezeoke, noted that the motion would serve as a final, peaceful and civilized settlement of the ever-increasing contradictions and bloodletting that has long plagued the nation. WHAT WILL WORK FOR NIGERIA NOW IS FOR THE DIFFERENT REGIONS TO GO THEIR SEPARATE WAYS – ANKKO BRIGGS

Image
Briggs said making such move at this time in the life of the nation was too late. Prominent resource control crusader, Ankko Briggs, has backed down on her call for the restructuring of the country. She rather called for the parting of ways by the different sections of the country. In a position made known on Wednesday amid the call for restructuring by several prominent individuals and groups, Briggs said the restructuring of the country should have been long done before the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan or the National Conference held in 2014. She said at the time, nobody understood why she stood on the side of restructuring the country. Now Briggs said that call is coming too late. She said what will work for the country at this time is for the different regions to go their separate ways. Briggs said: “Going by the figures, the North is getting over 60 per cent of the total local government allocations and even when we come to the states as well they al

Elder statesman and renowned academic of Igbo extraction, Professor Benedict Imeagwu Chukwumah (BIC) Ijomah, has taken Arewa nationalist leader, Prof. Ango abdulahi, to the cleaners.

Image
In an Open Letter dated June 21, 2017, Prof. Ijomah, the 80-year-old renowned Professor of Political Sociology, author, scholar, academician, and institutional administrator, used facts and figures to demolish claims recently made by the controversial Prof. Abdullahi while defending the quit notice served Igbos living in the North by Arewa youth leaders. Prof. Ijomah wrote thus: OPEN LETTER TO PROF. ANGO ABDULAHI Prof. Ango Abdullahi, OUR attention has been drawn to your statements in Vanguard of Saturday, June 10, 2017. You are alleged to be in support of the call on the Igbo to quit. It is unfortunate, grossly unfortunate, that a scholar of your calibre will be so partisan as to be unable to see the wisdom in retaining Nigeria as a corporate entity. I know you have, in the past, been anti-Igbo. One would have thought that our education exposes us to a level where we can live even with our enemies. You said in the alleged publication that, “each year up to the time Nigeri

Currently led by Gen. The assembly comprises the Afenifere Renewal Group, O’dua Liberation Movement, Yoruba Council of Youth, Coal

Image
The Northern Elders Forum, NEF, has called on former Military Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, to keep shut, because he lacks the morals to talk about restructuring. Speaking to Leadership Newspaper in an exclusive telephone interview, the Spokesman of NEF, Ango Abudllahi, argued that Babangida and the Military in general, are responsible for factors that gave rise to current agitation for restructuring. The attack came on the heels of Babangida’s Sallah message, in Minna, the Niger State capital, on Monday, where he called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to restructure the country immediately, in order to end the current flames of agitations across the federation.

Image
As the next half of the anti-corruption war of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration begins, the relationship between the presidency and the judiciary appears soured by heated exchanges following the recall of six judges accused of corruption. The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, had at several fora pledged the cooperation of the judiciary to the Federal Government’s anti-corruption campaign by reforming the judiciary for better service delivery. However, the latest faceoff has been stirred by the recall of six of the eight judges accused of corruption following the raid on’ residence of some judges by the Department of State Services (DSS). Many believe that the situation may have affected the level of confidence between the two arms of government. The NJC had at its 82nd meeting on June 1 recalled Justice John Inyang Okoro of the Supreme Court; Justice Uwani Abba Aji of the Court of Appeal; Justices Adeniyi Ademola, Hydiazira Nganjiwa and Musa K

THE RIVERINE BIAFRANS CLARIFY ISSUES

Image
Edited by Livingrich Ezeikpe "Go and tell them that Biafra is coming and no man or woman can stop the restoration of Biafra, no amount of bribery can stop the restoration of Biafra" said Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on the occasion of the visit of both the riverine communities of Biafra land and the IPOB media team on the 22nd day of June 2017. The Indigenous people of Biafra family from Yenagoa , Bayelsa state who visited their leader Mazi Nnamdi kanu made history on that day with their gifts signifying many qualities of the director of the popular Radio Biafra. It is important to note that the name Niger delta and south south were given to Biafrans in the riverine areas like Igweocha (Portharcourt) Bayelsa, cross river states and beyond. These names were given to them during the regime of former president Olusegun Obasanjo under divide and rule tactics of Nigeria. The idea was to create enemity between the Biafrans from the up land and their cousins from the riverine areas. An elderl

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has stated that the voice message purportedly from President Muhammadu Buhari is “fake and a scam”. He said this in reaction to the recording aired on Sunday by some radio stations, including the BBC. The presidency had  released the audio  to debunk reports that Buhari is suffering from speech impairment. But the former presidential spokesman accused Buhari’s handlers of taking Nigerians for a ride. “Like I wrote in my latest essay published on your website, Nigeria is not a free nation. “The essay asked some fundamental questions and the the truth is that Hausa/Fulani control this country. “Every body knows the recording is not the president’s voice. We are firmly in the grip of dictatorship “They are on top of the pyramid, the rest of us are slaves. God forbid that Nigeria continue like this, we must free ourselves.” Fani-Kayode added that the “strategy gone wrong” voice message was the same handlers of late Presiden
