FG, Stop Killings Fellow Nigerians, GPN Laments
The Green Party of Nigeria (GPN) on Saturday called on the Federal Government to end the “senseless killings” across the country as soon as possible. The Chairman of the Edo Chapter of the party, Mr Roy Oribhabor, said in an interview with newsmen in Benin on Saturday that the call became necessary in view of the recent killings in Benue state alleged to have been perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen. Newsmen report that at least eight states in the country are experiencing attacks by herdsmen. These include Enugu, Benue, Ekiti, Adamawa, Imo, Zamfara, Kaduna, and Delta, following the kidnap and killing of His Royal Majesty, Akaeze Ofulue III of the Ubulu-Uku. Oribhabor, who described the Benue massacre as unfortunate, said it was the responsibility of the government government to as matter of urgency and concern, stop the wanton destruction of lives and property of Nigerians by their fellow countrymen.
