RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT GIVES ONE MONTH QUIT NOTICE TO SARS TO QUIT THEIR PREMISES

The Rivers state government has issued a one month quit notice to the Special Anti Robbery Squad SARS to vacate their their state headquarters at Rukpokwu community in Obio/Akpor local government area. The notice was signed by the  Caretaker Committee Chairman of Obio/Akpor local government area have delivered a one month quit notice to the unit of the police Special Anti-Robbery Sqaud (SARS) residing in the local government. Recall that the Rivers state Governor Barr Nyesom Wike have accused SARS for sabotaging the security sector in Rivers state when a SARS officer was caught by Inspector General of Police monitoring team for kidnapping in Port Harcourt some months ago. Wike also accused the SARS commmander Akin Fakorede of being politicized and a agent of the APC. COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE END OF THE COUNCIL MEETING OF ALAIGBO DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (ADF) HELD AT ENUGU ON OCTOBER 13   and 14, 2017. The Council of the Alaigbo Development Foundation (ADF) held its meeting in Enugu on October 13   and 14, 2017. The Council deliberated on various issues including some critical political developments in Nigeria in general and in Alaigbo in particular. On the proscription and banning of IPOB: The ADF Council rejected the proscription as well as the banning of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra organization (IPOB) on the allegation that the IPOB is a terrorist organization. The Council reaffirmed her views as expressed in the Communique issued after the Council’s meeting of May 29, 2016 that the IPOB was a serious organization pursuing a non-violent struggle for Self-Determination. Abductors release DPO, orderly after collecting N5m ransom

The Divisional Police Officer attached to the Sarkin Pawa division, in Munya local government area of Niger state, Amos Aliyu and his orderly have been released by his captors. Our correspondent learnt that the abductors released the officers after collecting N5 million ransom. The chairman of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Munya local government, Alhaji Ibrahim Kadi confirmed to journalists in Minna that Superintendent of Police Aliyu and the orderly were released in Gwagwa area of Shiroro local government of the state. A source close to the DPO’s family confirmed his release and the payment of N5 million ransom by the abductors to our correspondent on phone. Our correspondent sighted the vehicles conveying the rescued officers at the gate of the state police command an hour later. Gunmen had seize the DPO, his orderly and four others Sunday morning and demanded a ransom of N16 million.
