IBIBIO CLAN TO PRESENT A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING TEMPLATE FOR THE PROPOSED BIAFRA NATION
As the heat of Biafra restoration is raging, most of the clans in the proposed Biafra nation are beginning to sort for a common front where all the clans that make up the nation of Biafra will be well represented when restored. Rising from a meeting held on September 3rd 2016, the Ibibio clan deliberated and resolved to put forward a template of the "proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)" with respect to the Biafra nation. According to the Ibibio clan, this move was not unconnected to the various suggestions by many international organisations in order to have a better understanding on how the proposed Biafra nation will be run when restored.
"It is better to have a better understanding among all the clans that make up Biafra so as to mutually and cordially cohabitate when Biafra exits Nigeria to become an independent nation". This resolution was borne out of patriotism for the nation of Biafra, even as they urged other clans to also toe that path in sorting out and tendering their own template of the said Memorandum Of Understanding. Do not forget that there are eleven clans that make up the proposed Biafra nation and they includes among others: Ibibio, Ijaw, Igala, Igede, Idoma and Igbo.
Furthermore, it has become important for the communities that make up each of the aforementioned clans to come up with a template that will incorporate how and best way the would be realised Biafra nation will the governed. For instance, the Igbos will organise themselves and put forward comprehensively how they envisage the nation of Biafra to be. The Ijaw clan which is in the coastal region of Biafra will equally put up a proposal on how they deem fit their dream Biafra nation will look like. Same with all other clans that make up the proposed Biafra nation.
However, a round table discussion will be ensued thereafter, which will comprise of all the clans and sort their proposals through the Memorandum of Understanding they have put in place which will be deliberated upon and as such, a concrete but all inclusive constitution will be derived. It will be such that respects people's opinions, hold in high esteem the people's fundamental human rights, protection of life and properties where justice, equity, fairness will be the order of the day, respect for the law of the land and many other rudiments that make up a civilised nation. All these are important because they will encourage peace, progress and prosperity amongst the populace if a constitution that is devoid of nepotism and tribalism is in practice. There will be a comprehensive document to be published for more clarification on the proposed Memorandum of Understanding as said by the Ibibio clan. Just as Mahatma Gandhi wrote; "men do not learn to improve their relationships by study of history, they make an advance only when experience, thought and imagination have eventually crystallized into an action".
