Main Reasons Why Biafra Must Be Restored - Mazi Nnamdi Kanu
On the eve of the Sit-At-Home exercise slated to be observed tomorrow being 30th of May, 2017 in honour of Biafra's Fallen heroes, and also in commemoration of Biafra's Independence as declared by Col. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, IPOB Writers delegated its writers residing in Biafran land and the wider Nigeria to pay solidarity visit to their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, was delighted to see the delegates whom he prayed for that Chukwu-Okike-Abiama would bless immensely for volunteering to work for the restoration of Biafra.
On their own side, the delegates were extremely excited to meet with their leader as they posited that he (Kanu) sounded tough on radio but appears hospitable and friendly in person.
He(Kanu) spoke to the writers on the need for them to double their efforts as no form of fatigue should be entertained by anyone until Biafra is restored.
Speaking on the need to restore Biafra, he outlined four distinct reasons why Biafra must be restored, which are: spiritual, economic, social and cultural.
On the spiritual reason why Biafra must be restored, he stressed the need for Biafrans to have their own Jerusalem which he said would be built in Arochukwu where Biafrans shall worship the Almighty.
On the social relevance, he spoke on the need to fortify the relationships and interactions between different tribes in Biafran land; a state where each tribe would see the other as same blood, which is what British-backed Hausa-Fulani Nigeria has fruitlessly worked against.
On the cultural reason, he pictured a state where Biafrans' cultures, values and languages would be held on high esteem to such extent that Provincial Houses of Assembly would write laws in their own languages and dialects. A state where each tribe would have its own lexicon and dictionary written and studied.
He posited that Biafrans wouldn't have such power to steer their religion, culture, economy and society in the direction they should be without having the political power to do so, hence the need for restored independence.
He recalled that Biafra, during the years she was on her own, recorded an annual economic growth rate of approximately 40% which has not been beaten by any country in the world's history.
Speaking further on the benefit of a restored Biafra, he said Biafra would reduce the rate of migration because Nigeria has made many Biafrans to migrate to countries where they seek better life, education, health services, etc.
In his own words: "The four reasons why Biafra should be restored are: spiritual, economic, social and cultural reasons."
"On spiritual reason, we need to have a state where we worship the Almighty in spirit and in truth, hence we will build a place in Arochukwu as (Israel has) Yerusalem".
"Our cultural heritage must be hallowed and every House of Assembly shall enact their laws in their own dialects"
"We shall have our own dictionaries and lexicons written for everyone to use".
"Without Biafra, which gives us political power, we can not have the power to preserve our culture, religion, economy and society from extinction"
Meanwhile, as the leader of IPOB was still speaking to his visitors, helicopters were flying, at low heights, around the compound of the IPOB leader.
Also, more than 27 trucks carrying Nigerian armed forces were patrolling around the vicinity.
