Exposed: How Minister Of Interior, Dambazau Has Shielded Northern Youths But Called For Kanu’s Arrest

The members of the public were thrown agog on 12th August, 2017 when the Internet was flooded with a press statement released by Ministry of Interior headed by Lt-Gen Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (retd). There are many matters arising from that press conference, we will deal with them religiously without alterations.

The Minister of Interior, Lt-Gen Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (retd), accused the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, of violating the bail conditions given to him by Justice Binta Nyako of Federal High Court, Abuja.

Dambazau Indirectly asked the judge handling Nnamdi Kanu’s case to detain him on the next court sitting. He said: “Kanu will have a day in court and the court will determine his fate because it is the court that gave those conditions.”

How can the Nigerian government be interfering in court processes? We were taught in school that there are three organs of government: Executive, Judiciary and Legislature. From these three organs, judiciary is independent of the others. Judiciary runs the checks and balances to avoid power intoxication because absolute power corrupts absolutely according to John Dalberg-Acton, 1st Baron Acton.

Minister of Interior, Dambazau didn't stop after accusing Nnamdi Kanu, he went ahead to shield Arewa youths from possible arrest. According to him; “the group that called themselves coalition of Arewa Associations that held a press conference in Kaduna where they gave October 1 ultimatum to the Igbo to quit the north as a response to what they termed as issue of separatist agenda of IPOB and claim that there are lots of excitements from the Igbo against northerners, of course, they later claimed that the media quoted them out of context. I am very much aware that the DSS invited all of them, held a meeting with them to which they made a statement to the effect that what was reported in the media was not what they said".

Dambazau has blamed the media for quoting Arewa youths wrong but he forgot that ‘Kaduna Declaration’ has a video clip. If Lagos-Ibadan media has quoted Arewa youths wrongly, then what happened to the video being circulated on social media? Is Dambazau also saying that we quoted the video wrongly?

It is very clear to everyone that the landlords of Nigeria are northerners. They are ready to defend indefensible fellows so far as he/she is from northern part of Nigeria.

It was one of the issue that made Bokoharam to spread like wildfire and airborne disease. Buhari the London photoshop president was the first to attack Ihejirika, the then Chief of Army Staff during Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s administration for having the courage to fight the people he called his brothers. Buhari said: “attack on Bokoharam is an attack on the north”.

Minster of Interior continued painting Arewa youths' quit order as friendly match between Madrid and Atletico Madrid. He said “They (Arewa Youths) further wrote to the Acting President indicating that they did not make inciting statement as to the issue of violence or forceful ejection of the Igbo in the north. However, it was on the basis of that the northern elders called them to also reaffirm from them that what was reported is not exactly what they meant.”

I was astonished when I read the above statement, it means that these youths are untouchable, they are pampering them like newly married wife, romancing them like a lady washing cracked fresh egg with water.

The straw that broke the camel's back was when he transferred a national issue to Kaduna state government: “Secondly, it is something that the Kaduna State government is handling since that is where it happened. I want to think that it was on that basis that the arrest was not made. Again, there have been several efforts to dialogue between the northern youths and the Igbo youths. Several of such meetings have been held including the reported one a week ago but my understanding is that these various groups are trying to reach an understanding."

Nigerian government has proved to us that Arewa youths can be begged but if it is IPOB, the story will change. They are currently telling us that Lady justice is no longer blindfolded, she can now see and know whom to select and jail.

It is only a foolish Southerner that will be proud to be called a Nigerian. Nigeria belongs to the Arewa Republic and there is nothing we can do about it than to join Biafran train.

Mazi
Let me say this as my personal opinion, I want to advise Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to jettison all Nigerian judicial processes - going to court and so on and so forth until further notice. Let the Nigerian government prosecute all the Hausa-Fulani looters, Coalition of Arewa youths, Arewa hate speech promoters and other Arewa human rights abusers first. We can not subject ourselves to a rigged judicial system. We don't have a stake in the Nigerian project.
